Teens Making Changes (TMC)
Members of Teens Making Changes are representatives from different area high schools all located in Greater West Bloomfield. These students meet on a monthly basis to plan programs and activities for their peers. They also participate regularly in monthly Community Coalition meetings and in community service with different community organizations.

Meetings
Members of TMC (Teens Making Changes) meet on Sundays at 3:30pm a couple times a month at the West Bloomfield Family Aquatic Center 6200 Farmington Rd. Contact Lisa Kaplan at lkaplan@gwbcoalition.org for more information. We welcome all high school students, who either live in Greater West Bloomfield OR attend a school located in Greater West Bloomfield, to join us in planning fun and meaningful prevention campaigns/activities for their peers. Community service opportunity.

Goals
  1. Get to know each other – Have fun
  2. Get to know youth in other communities to find out what others are doing
  3. Be a youth voice in the community, tell Coalition story, and promote a drug free life style
  4. Keep communicating with adults in the community about the need for a Teen Center
  5. Develop web site – to help communicate job opportunities, activities, etc.
  6. Develop teen discounts in the business community
  7. Create job shadowing opportunities in the community
  8. Organize safe, fun recreational activities for teens from all over
  9. Create a mentoring program with younger kids

Mentoring: Working to develop a high school / elementary school mentoring pilot program in Walled Lake and West Bloomfield
